Kata Tjuta or The Olgas, is another spectacular rock formation of the same origin as Uluru at about 25 km distance from Uluru. Excellent touris viewing areas with road access and parking have been constructed to give red center tourists the best views of Kata Tjuta which is both wonderful to visit at dawn and dusk – dusk is the best, so ideally you have an extra day for Kata Tjuta and even if you travel fast you should spend 2 or 2 nights at Uluru and Kata Tjuta. The valley of the winds is The Olgas most famous walking track – it will take you about 3 hours, bring plenty of water and leave very early in the morning for best climate conditions and wildlife spotting.

Clearly the best time to visit Uluru & Kata Tjuta is in the Australian is in either spring or Autumn. ie April- May or Sept- Oct. It’s too hot in summer. receive an average rainfall of 308mm per year, and have an average temperatures of 37.8 °C in the summer and 4.7 °C in winter. UV levels are extreme most days, protect yourself well when becoming a red center tourist.
